Jon,
Some people wouldn't have considered that a crash.
Even I have experienced more traumatic crashes than that and I consider
myself lucky. However, it goes without saying that motorcycling is
inherently dangerous. To say that you never thought the day would come is
almost like putting on a blindfold and pretending the danger isn't there
because you can't see it. I know you don't need the lecture, but I like to
read what I write :).
The clinking sound is a mystery to me to be honest and it could be any
number of things. I would do a visual inspection of any damage to the
crankcase before riding it much more. Sometimes (I know this happened to me)
when you have a bike on it's side oil can get into the pistons and when you
start it up, it will smoke for a few seconds. Nothing major, but it's not
something to ignore either if it continues for a while. I did this several
hundred times with my Seca.
