Why not grind down the lip? sure, you'd be modifying the stock
parts, but that's what you'd do if you installed a jet kit or
cartridge emulators or a shock or installed heated grips or...
Suzuki is the only manufacturer who puts that lip there. Honda,
Kawasaki, Triumph, Yamaha, BMW, Ducati and .... well, none of them
have problems with their grips falling off. Grip glue or hair spray
(Aqua Net is best) work really well for getting grips on and keeping
them there.
