It depends on your dealer. Both Zook dealers I bought bikes from said
to change the oil and filter, make sure the coolant hasn't drained out
or is has turned into chocolate milk, see if the chain is flopping
around or not and check the torque on the important bolts (like the
Doohickey Bolt - very important) and that's it. That's about all they
do although I'm sure a good dealership has a check list and if they
miss something and it comes back broke, they're going to back you up
and fix it.

Valves? It's not necessary but you can take a reading of their
clearances and then take another reading at, say, 5K to see if there
are any changes (i.e. - valve pounding its way into a from-the-factory
faulty/bad/poopoo valve seat, which is pretty rare.) Mine's getting
close to 40K and one exhaust valve has tightened up about ~0.0005"
between measurements. Note that the exhaust valve clearances are
between 0.008" - 0.012". All the other valves were within spec and
none have changed from what they were when I first checked them at
around 12K.

You may want to bleed your brakes. SVs are notorious for having spongy
brakes from the factory because of air in the lines.

Yeah, on a multi-cylinder bike, you may want to check to make sure the
carbies are synchronized.

Go wild and wash it too.
