Fred, I did find it to be a challenge, but not as challenging as a pickup.
The rear is not as high.

I had help loading and unloading at the track, but at home, I had to do bot=

myself.

For the loading, I backed up to a bank that was steep enough so that the en=
d
of the 8-foot 2x12 that I call my ramp was slightly higher than the back of
the van. Then I just rode my bike down the bank and into the van (you have
to duck but there's room).

For the unloading, I backed up to a smaller bank. The trick here is to get
the bike onto the board without pushing the board off the van. I think if I
bevel the van edge of the board it will solve this problem. But I was able
to stand on the ground, hold the bike up and back it out because the ground
was only about eight or 10 inches below the bike.

It's not perfect, but it will do. And the plus was, the van has tons of roo=
m
for the bike plus everything else I needed (and easily room to sleep in),
and I was able to keep my bike locked in it overnight.
