PESO 2018 - 065, 066 (lens testing) - GDG

My equipment juggling (Leica CL acquisition) has started another round of lens experimentation. Here are two sessions...

I dug this old Sigma 600mm cat out of the closet and fitted it to a mount adapter, mounted it on the CL just for giggles.

That's effectively a 900mm f/8 lens on APS-C format ... Not something I'll use terribly frequently but eh? whatever. I think it cost me about $80 a decade or more ago. It's pretty soft and flarey, but I was able to make this fine portrait with it:

Next, I pulled out my Leica Elmar-R 180mm f/4 and the 2x Extender-R. It's a nice, compact, and pretty light package on the CL, with an equivalent FoV of a 540mm f/8 lens...

Now, I'll probably only very rarely use such a long lens as this anyway, but sometimes the opportunity appears and it's fun to have a relatively small, light, cheap long-lens capability:

Enough for now. I acquired the Leica CL body primarily to use for tabletop, macro, and repro work, what's been missing since I sent the SL off for consignment sale, but it's kind of fun to see what all my R and M lenses perform like on it.
