Some information on LTR systems here
http://home.hvc.rr.com/bpetrow/ltr.htm

The frequencies usually are not in consectutive order.
An example for a five frequency system...... 1,5,9,11 and 13.
The PRO-97 has a feature called "repeater finder" which does help some.

If you have come here to find out about the 250D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-250D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-250D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
