right but try it with the adapter on your desktop just to see if it
connects.  If it does work with the adapter then something is wrong on your
laptop...

I have the latest drivers but it still will not find the scanner.

I didn't try on the desktop because the desktop actually has a serial 
port and it works there.  

I wanted to put it (ARC250) on the laptop for mobility and traveling 
reasons.





If you have come here to find out about the 250D you have come to the right
place! In fact the discussion of the BC-250D and how it works is the only
acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the
BC-250D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
