the one u have bought is probably one of the best...I bought the Radio Shack
800 mhz one because we have a lot of trunking here it works well even on 400
mhz and not too bad on vhf high.  Most low band has been eliminated here or
it repeated.  So it works better on 800 mhz.  Nothing beats a roof antenna
though :)  Happy scanning

Well in south Arkansas, We have a wide range of bands we cover here,
Arkansas state police are now on the new digital radio system (800 
mhz)

most county and city police are using the 155 band now

my Fire Department is using the low band 37.xxx for dispatch and the 
155 for enroute calls
