You can carefully open it up and try to reseat the ribbons and connectors
they may have come loose. If that doesn't work you can send it in to
Uniden repair for a flat $50 repair fee. I just had to send mine in to
Uniden to have mine fixed. It took 30 days to get it back. 

 If you are looking for a deal on a digital scanner Overstock.com has the
PRO-96/2096 Radio Shack scanners for $225 and $190.
