Can you show me a picture of what you mean?

Is the metal part of the knob still there? I used glue to fill the outer larger 
knob and it stuck on well to the scanner.

My BC250 D has worked flawlessly since they came out new. Now I dropped it and 
bent the on off switch and Uniden does not service them any longer. Any Ideas 
what I can do to get this up and running again?
