Japanese model ic-r2

I just got a japanese model ic-r2 and have noticed quite a few gaps 
in freg. coverage like the fm radio band 88-108 and others. Is this 
normal ? And does anyone know exactly what gaps are in this model ? 
Is there any way to restore the fm radio band ? Thanks in advance 
for any help.
