Let's start my first message to this group off on a morbid note: how did your last IC-R2 die before you bought another one? (or else you wouldn't be still here reading this) I mean what should one _not_ do that I should watch out for. Ok, if not the whole radio, which of the keys fails first? Yes, I hear that belt clip and antenna connector might go sooner... Or maybe there is some data that wouldn't produce a Clone Error, but instead actually harms it for good? P.S. Priority watch: I hate the 125 ms dropouts every 5 sec while it checks the other station. They seem to come just during the critical parts of the main conversation you are listening to. PS/2 what if I'm tired of batteries and weld transformer wires to the battery contacts. I suppose I need a 'torid' to wrap around the line in or else I will hear transformer hum? Maybe change the Subject if you just answer this. PS/3 anybody use a program to get frequencies like 300 Khz into a 9khz model? http://uk.geocities.com/blakkekatte/clone/icomclonedoc.pdf doesn't explicitly mention that range below 495 khz. How low can the radio really hear in this unadvertised zone? P.P.S. I will investigate the mailing list nomail option, as I read this on gmane.recreation.radio.hardware.icomr2 on gmane.org NNTP server. -- http://jidanni.org/ Taiwan(04)25854780 ------------------------ Yahoo!
