I read your problem, and it seems similar to mine. I recently got the ARC-2 software about couple of months ago, and I'm having trouble reading from the PC to the R2. And also at my computer at home, even though I input the key and password, it continues to run in the DEMO mode (it works on my PC at work though, that runs Windows 2000). Through the vendor I purchased the software from, they stated that the versions of the ARC2 downloaded from EVEN the Butel website are not what one should be using. The latest version to be downloaded from their website is ver 1.16; the replacement ARC2 they sent me is also ver. 1.16, however they say it's different (the two versions differ by only a few kbytes)! You say that you push the SQL button when reading from the R2 to the PC...I didn't read that anywhere? Where did you get that info from, was it in the ARC2 instructions?...maybe that's why I may be having problems? The only thing I can think of trying for your problem, is trying all the COM ports. Also check your software: The ver 1.16 I downloaded from Butel was 580kB; the "new" ver 1.16 they sent me was slightly larger at 584kB. --- In [email protected], Neil Arundel <106410.106-kYwkPH9/[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > I've just received the ARC-2 software from Butel along with a > serial cable but am having trouble.
