Hmmm, no fun listening to SSB in AM mode. Time to buy an additional
radio to compliment the R2, to fill in for what the R2 lacks.
The obvious lacks are SSB and fine tuning below 30 Mhz, and coverage
below 0.495 Mhz.

Hmm, the http://www.aorja.com/ar7030e.html seems to fill in without
much unnecessary duplication. But wait, it is aimed way above us
simple R2 users.

Maybe just give in and admit one should have got a
http://www.kenwood.co.jp/i/products/info/amateur/thf7e.html
in the first place. (The only worry for us Linux users is there is no
http://parnass.com/tk2/ for it. But wait, I see a
http://hamlib.sourceforge.net/support/model220.txt
however is says "no" to some items the ads say "yes" about...)

Or perhaps a Icom PCR-1000 or http://www.linradio.com/ . But the
whole idea of my hobby was something to take my tired eyes off the
computer screen all day.
