Very likely the cable is faulty, that software is junk anyway, 

if I recall well Rotterdam is in The Netherlands and they make the 
best R2 software in the Netherlands at butelsoftware, they also sell 
program kits with pc interfaces. But since you are Dutch you were 
probably lookin' for a bargin :-)
