Good tip, but if you are suffering from crasstalk between frequencies
I'd be more inclined to get the R2 checked out. I run mine on a multi
band discone set up 50 ft oin the air, and I NEVER have any problems
with crosstalk or harmonics. I've even had it sitting next to my 2m
radio whose aerial is about 2 feet away from the discone, and never had
any problems. And that's with it pushing 50 watts out on 2m for aprs
which as every1 knows is probably quite a high duty cycle.

As for amplifying the signals, all it's effectivly doing by wrapping a
long length of foil around the aerial is having a bigger aerial on top
of the main one. Personally I would stick to an external aerial, or buy
a new aerial which has an sma connector on it. And yes they do exist
because I've got one sumwhere for my HT.
