losing signal strenth

Hi all,

 

I have had my R2 for about 3years now.  Here recently I have noticed that
when using it, and listening to a signal full scale  the receiver will
suddenly lose the signal and then the signal comes back in full scale with
static or no static at times.  I know that the signal is not coming and
going.  It doesn't do this all the time and only happens from time to time.
The signal doesn't just come and go on a particular signal either.  Anyone
else had this strange thing to happen with their receiver or is it just me?
Another thing the scanner is not moving when this happens it is stationary.
Any Ideas?
