I have an Austin Condor with a BNC connector.   While it is a
pretty good performer electrically, I think it is too big and massive
for tiny receivers like the IC-R2 and IC-R5 and could damage their
SMA antenna jacks.

On the IC-R2 and IC-R5, I prefer to use the very thin (almost like guitar
string) third party antennas.   The Pryme RD-9SMA places less strain on the 
SMA antenna jack, for example.
