Hi , I will try to keep this short, and to the point .OK i will ansewr the 
2nd question 1st . To get the r-2 to stay on one Ch find the buttun on the 
front marked v/m with m/w highlighted in white . push this buttun and that 
should put you into the Direct serch mode push the same buttun agin and it 
will bring you back to the chs and shouldnt scan . Ok next to lock out  chs  
, find the Ch you dont want to hear and push the buttun  marked Ts with skip 
highlighted in white .  I hope this helps . The R-2 is easy to use ,but i 
would get a copy of an oweners manul . happy holidays , Jay
