Hello Andy,

I did it, for the same reason.
Presently I'm not using it anymore because my shack is over so I cannot=20
send you photo to explain the workaround, I'll try to explain what I=20
did as clearly as possible.

I took two false batteries, the one used to jump una element on the old=20
battery packs that were used to run with NiCd on Carbon elements, just=20
a bridge with the same size of a normal battery but empty.

I made a very small slot on one side of the ICR2 battery cover to pass=20=20
with the wires.

Inside one of the false elements I made a very simple voltage regulator=20
with a Zener and few other components in order to drop down the voltage=20
from a maximum voltage of 15v to a 2.9v suitable to feed the unit with=20
no risks.

I also put a diode for protection agaist polarity invertion.

By this "esoteric" unit I can supply the ICR2 with a range of voltage=20
from about 4.5v up to 13v (max suggested.

My plan was to add a more accurate filter in order to be able to use=20
even not stabilised sources bu I stopped there.

Hope this can give you an idea on the path to follow, if I will find=20
the unit I will post few photo.
