Not sure what the IF freq of the icom is but if it is near 455kHz the 1050 could work. The icom is not good on the HF bands unless you remove the aerial and plug in a long wire antenna, and then it is about OK. Its great for VHF or UHF though but of course there is almost no ssb transmissions on those frequencies.. just had a look at the Icom manual and the 3rd IF freq is 450kHz, so the 1050 could work if it will tune down to that frequency.
