After a couple of years I had to stic a small jewlers screwdriver (coverd with scotch tape) in the hole to bend the springlike contact for the outer barrel part of the connection to tighten it back up. I had used a plug that was a little too big and the movements of car use had compressed it and made a loose fit. Also the center post must be a tight fit into the adapter plug or you will only have intermittent contact. This is my experience with that scanners connecter plugs. I tried two different wall warts on mine and both present the same problem. If you don't hold your mouth just the right way when you connect the charger the low battery beep starts. Eventually even when you do it so that the radio's happy for a while it starts the beeping anyway. If you have, is their a workaround that's effective and doesn't involve major surgery?
