I want to thank all of you for your responses and offers.

However, I am happy to report that I found the cable the next day, while still searching.

That just never happens. Not in my world.

Have found that the cable is hard to find now, commercially. The only place I did find it for
sale was Scanner Master, at $19.95.

However, ran into another problem. Hooked the cable up to our HP laptop and to the
scanner, following the instructions in the owner's manual. Radio off, hold down REMOTE,
turn radio on and get I SCANr but never see PC CON at least on start up as the manual
(pgs. 62-63) shows. I can hit the UP button and it will change display to PC CON and that
is as far as I get. Can also change connect speeds, but can not get radio/pc to see each
other. I know it works because I've done this before, but can't do it now.

This was late at night and I tried just about every combination of hook up, set up,
connections, order of doing things and no luck,

Can anyone tell me how to really set this up? My goal is to program the radio with new
frequencies. Not to run the radio by remote control.

Thanks for any help.

Fred
