As David said, ITS EASY to make a pack for the BC245. My homemade pack did not have tabs and were the regular cells with a small wire attached. It was a tight fit in the case but they worked. Some would say you will ruin your batterys if you solder to them. If you are quick and use a fime 24 or less guage wire it does solders well and quickly. When you are using 2700 mah cells if the quick heat damage causes a decrease in capacity you probably will not see it as the stock battery was what 600mah...... Also with a always talking 2 trunking systems in Florence South Carolina The battery has lasted about 12-14 hours at 3/4 volume with very little break in the audio coming out of it. The Nextel Rebanding will kill the trunk tracker function for me next year but the good news is that Florence County is not going digital for another 3-5 years...
