I have my unit in the shack with an external antenna ,just a spare 6db
UHF mobile whip on a screw base mounted on a gutter.For portable I use
a 25 - 1300mhz whip I got through MobileOne here in Australia. They
both work fine for me,if you did a web search you'll find the whip
manufacturer and get a better idea.Hope this helps.
