For hooking up the cable and getting the scanner to go into RMT mode, see pages 63-71 in the manual. We have a PDF copy of the manual in the files section of this group. Additionally, most PCs these days doesn't come with a serial port - you will need a USB-serial converter to do the job. There is a wiki article that describes the procedure of installing these - it's set up for XP but should only be slightly different for Vista... http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Connecting_scanners_via_USB In addition to RadioReference (this site has both an extensive database and state by state forums including one for Utah), there is a very nice little scanning wiki for Utah here... http://utahradio.org/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page 73 Mike > > Thank you all for your comments and help. I really do appreciate your advice and input. It sounds like the best thing for me is to try and input the frequencies by hand. I do have a cable that hooks to my computer and I guess I thought it would be auto when I hooked it up, but I was wrong. (I'm not too tech smart.) I'll search and find the frequencies I need on the internet for the Utah area. If any of you have great sources that you would share, I'd be grateful! Thanks again! > ------------------------------------ Enjoy the list ! No flames please! Please Keep it on topic!
