I'll look at that next month, sounds like an easy fix but in my neighborhood I don't us EDACS enough to notice. Duff

I do like 245int, but it has an EDACS-related bug that I suspect could be easily repaired.

When working with edacs mode, the following catch-22 occurs:

* the 245 scanner natively holds edacs talk groups in xx-yyy format
* the 245 scanner can *receive* the talk groups in either decimal or xx.yyy format. Note the dot rather than dash.
* 245int does not upload xx.yyy; it sends xx-yyy and the scanner blanks out that TG field. If you download from the scanner your EDACS TGs are gone from your file. Bad!

There is an annoying and easy-to-screw-up workaround one must perform if one wants to use EDACS and see the alpha tags. I documented this in the original 245int tutorial several years back.

The solution would be to have 245int to upload xx.yyy instead of xx-yyy and all would be well. If the xx and yyy are held seperately in the code and the - is a literal/constant then theoretically this could be "change one char and recompile" solution.

I do not have any MS coding tools or I'd do it myself. I guess I could get the source, alter the edacs upload routines and have someone else compile it.

You can use
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BC245XLT/files/BC-245%20XLT%20Control%20Software/
BC245INT which was designed by a group of folks for their hobby and is free at the site above. Easy to use and source code is available free. I don't know if the posted files here include the source, they do include the executables. I have source at home so if you want a copy of the VB code post a note. What is great, is walking the source code through the debugger and seeing how it interfaces with the radio. It will be a couple of weeks for me to send code as I'm currently on vacation out town. There are two versions posted at site above and you need to start with the older version first as the second part is an upgrade with some minor patches and improvements. Duff
