Are you certain that the program works on a BC245XLT?  I put mine into remote mode and the program could not find the scanner.  Are there com port parameters that need to be set?  My com 1 settings are 9600,8,n,1

There is one more option for quickly programming a 245.

The Control Freq Jr Program from Freq of Nature does a wonderful job of 
dumping and excel spreadsheet full of frequencies into the scanner. No 
Fuss, No Muss.
