I got the freq and ID transfer working with bc245int by jumpering the handshaking lines on the db9. Wired pins 1-4-6 together and 7-8 as well. Still no luck with the backup program. I have a feeling that it wants true handshaking when transfering in clone mode. --- In [email protected], "LonnieW" <n9iui@...> wrote: > > You shouldn't need all 9 wires. I'm not aware of ANY application that uses all 9 wires in a DB-9 connector for serial communication, though some special application might. I too am needing a cable for my 245. > > Lonnie, N9IUI > > --- In [email protected], "jrmacgreg" <rmacgregor@> wrote: > > > > No luck so far finding a connector. What I did find out today.I took apart the scanner and soldered the wires on pins 2,3 and 5 of a db9 to the correct points on the CPU PCB. The virtual control worked fine but transfering frequencies and IDs would not. Also the backup program would not work. It looks like to do transfers you need the hand shaking lines for this to work. Oh well I definetly will need a cable. Too hard to wire to all 9 connects in the scanner. > > > ------------------------------------ Enjoy the list ! No flames please! Please Keep it on topic!
