For your information, P25 Phase I has been around for quite some time actua=
lly. It was first rolled out in the early 90s and is based upon FDMA modula=
tions techniques, to be specific, C4FM.

P25 Phase II is the next evolution of P25 to comply with a narrow-banding m=
andates and spectral efficiency and uses 2-slot TDMA modulation techniques =
that fits 2 "channels" inside a standard 12.5 kHz channel. This generation =
of P25 is just beginning to be installed across North America. I do not kno=
w of any Phase II P25 systems currently in Canada.

Currently NO Uniden scanners are capable of decoding Phase II however the G=
RE-PSR800 is capabale and I have seen it demonstrated for Phase II and it w=
orks very well.
