Okay =E2=80=93 thanks very much.. I=E2=80=99ll do a search of the Radio Ref=
erence site to make sure it=E2=80=99s not encrypted etc.. Yeah =E2=80=93 I =
was great with the old scanners, and just barely survived with the 346 =E2=
=80=93 but couldn=E2=80=99t just punch in a number to =E2=80=9Chold=E2=80=
=9D or immediately get to one channel if I wanted, so I was trying to do th=
at recently with some advice from the 346 group, but i really screwed it up=
, so I downloaded the software =E2=80=93 luckily had an old PC with a seria=
l port and actually just started looking at it =E2=80=93 but that=E2=80=99s=
 when I realized I wasn=E2=80=99t getting all my stuff anymore =E2=80=93 an=
d now I see it=E2=80=99s moved.. so at this point =E2=80=93 I really want e=
verything =E2=80=93 even if I have more than one scanner.. I have a few now=
=E2=80=93 but I really want my state police back.. and yes, the price is d=
efinitely right for the Radio Reference stuff..=20

Thanks so very much.. I=E2=80=99ll count that as two votes for the 396..=20

You'll have to move up to at least the 396XT but you might want to check an=
d make sure state hasn't also gone to scrambled/encrypted. Local radio gro=
up should be able to tell you or a quick chat on Radio Reference site. As =
far as programing goes FreeScan is available for free and simplifies that c=
hallenge and with an account from RadioReference you can just download and =
upload whatever you want. When it comes to using the radio keyboard I usua=
lly us it only for changes on the go and close call or search. Programing =
is just too time consuming when FreeScan can do it in minutes and the price=
 is right.

Hi there,

I think my state (Mass) police changed to a Digital Trunking System. I can=
=E2=80=99t figure out what it=E2=80=99s exactly called, might it be APCO-25=
 or Project 25. That=E2=80=99s what=E2=80=99s listed in the =E2=80=9CType=
=E2=80=9D column on RadioReference, where other systems say Motorola or EDA=
CS. (I=E2=80=99m looking for the Commonwealth of Mass (Project 25) System.=
  It=E2=80=99s listed here:

http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?stid=3D25&tab=3Dtrs

Does anyone know if I can program my BC 245XLT for this? and if not, anyon=
e here know if I can do this on a BC346XT?

Thanks much.
