So HP-1 =E2=80=93 m= ust be something like Home Patrol =E2=80=93 but I don=E2=80=99t know what t= hat is yet. that=E2=80=99s my problem with getting the fancier scanner =E2= =80=93 I=E2=80=99ll never use most of the functionality.. However =E2=80=93= the 396 is a pretty old model..=20 I hope on my own scanner I can choose what talk groups I want =E2=80=93 so = that I can just get the state police in my area =E2=80=93 if I want.. or al= l of it.=20 Anyway =E2=80=93 you guys are the best.. Local radio gro= up should be able to tell you or a quick chat on Radio Reference site. As = far as programing goes FreeScan is available for free and simplifies that c= hallenge and with an account from RadioReference you can just download and = upload whatever you want. When it comes to using the radio keyboard I usua= lly us it only for changes on the go and close call or search. Programing = is just too time consuming when FreeScan can do it in minutes and the price= is right.
