Re: Volume Knob

  The knobs on our BC-780s have a chronic problem with breaking.  I program the scanners at the TV station where I work, and most of the 780s at work and those I have at home have volume or squelch knobs that have broken.
  
   I have had good success in gluing them with cyanocrylate, commonly known as Super Glue.  Also, rummaging through the boxes of knobs at a local electronics surplus store resulted in a suitable replacements for the volume control knob.  The replacements don't look like the original, but work just fine.   Some of the knobs had a hole that was too small, and I had to use a drill to make the hole large enough to accommodate the volume shaft.
