Thanks everyone for the ideas. I ended up using some super glue and that seems to be holding. Uniden was out of stock- with no lead time available. It was a clean split down the middle, it’s probably a design flaw in the mold. I hope I don’t have the same issue with my 796ds. The button looks to be the same. Much less time trying to figure out a fix Sent from my iPhone of JT On Aug 18, 2012, at 2:50 AM, "Tom Hirsch" <[email protected] <mailto:thirsch4%40juno.com> > wrote: > Hello from Florida, > > Like previous posters, I have experienced this, on my own BC-780; BC-785D; and these 2 and BC-796D scanners at the TV station where I work. We have had numerous volume knobs split. And like previous posters, I have had very good success using Superglue (cyanocrylate) and similar brands to fix these knobs. Once repaired, they don't seem to break again. > > Another solution is to look for similar sized knobs at electronics stores, surplus stores, and hamfests.
