Actually, they are looking at going to 8.33 kHz channels. But, that will 
likely be a ways off. Right now, that's really only popular in Europe.

Some scanners actually already support the 8.33 kHz steps (such as AOR).

BTW, they came up with 8.33 kHz to fit two more channels between the 
current 25.0 kHz channel spacing. That's why it's such an odd number.
