I agree on the Arc-780 program, it works and is stable, there was once one
better for logging but it's not being supported any more.  I use a Butel
program for my GRE radios too and it also works well.

Don't be intimidated by the operation of the radio, just go in and learn
the menus, once you figure them out you'll be operating it just like your
old ones but with more options, take your time, it seems daunting at first
only because of the added menus.
