I thought that as well, I have been goggling that as well as looking on the Radio Reference site and wiki to see if there was anything, but I can't find it. Almost everything uses the discriminator output, the person that did this mod took a lot of time to do it clean, and used hot glue to hold the wires up and around the case very professionally.

Thanks for your input I'll keep looking, it has my curiosity up.
