This should be standard in any scanner IMHO.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>I bought a used 780 for $30 that was in a police car and works terrific. After completely reprogramming it I found that when the squelch opens the display turns on the display and goes off after the squelch closes - kool!</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>I vaguely remember this mod but extensive internet searching was fruitless. I would think that completely reprogramming it by PC (ProScan) any software mod would be wiped out.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>I've had 780's since they came out and now have 5. Perfect for my area in flyover country. I also have a BCD396xt, 2ea BCD996xt, BCD436, HP2, 2ea Pro-2004
