His citation was for violating NCGS -20-137.2 Operation of vehicles resembling law-enforcement vehicles. NCGS ยง 20-137.2 Operation of vehicles resembling law enforcement vehicles unlawful; punishment. (a) It is unlawful for any person other than a law enforcement officer of the State or of any county, municipality, or other political subdivision thereof, with the intent to impersonate a law enforcement officer, to operate any vehicle, which by its coloration, insignia, lettering, and blue or red light resembles a vehicle owned, possessed, or operated by any law enforcement agency. (b) Violation of subsection (a) of this section is a Class 1 misdemeanor. (1979, c. 567, s. 1; 1993, c. 539, s. 362; 1994, Ex. Sess., c. 24, s. 14(c).) McLamb's car a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice was formerly owned by the NC State Capitol Police, does not have any coloration, insignia, lettering, red or blue light. Just a bunch of antennas for his amateur radio hobby. Jerry is asking that anyone that may have a car with amateur radio antennas to come to court that date as a show of support. I understand that most people are working but if you have a car that may resemble a vehicle owned by any law-enforcement agency and if you can arrange to take the day off it may benefit all of us. If you have any photos that you think may be used as evidence that other people have similar cars like Jerry please email them to _marlind-/[email protected]_ (mailto:marlind-/[email protected]) . Jerry McLamb is also the owner of Johnston Emergency Communications Corp. This company is preparing a specially equipped vehicle to provide emergency communications in communities when the regular lines of communications are out. Johnston County is one of the evacuation centers when hurricanes hit the coast and when storms hit the area directly. You may email me - preferred or call (919)878-7385. Mark Gibson [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] If you have come here to find out about the 785D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-785D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-785D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
