Thanks for the reply but these are not digital signals Our townis changing over to a new system but curretnly the warble sound I hear is on analog signal. The scanner itself (other then maybe an adjustment like youmentioned) is fine I thikn they have been playing with settings etc in the city system Just to confirm the adjustment you mention would be only for a digital card installed in the 785 correct? tnx again for the help though ----- Original Message ----- From: David Chast To: [email protected] Sent: 10/07/2006 6:47:29 AM Subject: Re: [UnidenBC785D] UnidenBC785D - question Did you try to adjust the voice. There is a user setting on the 785 where, as the digital apco signal is coming in, you adjust the knob to try and get the value as low as possible. I know I'm being vague, but it is in the manual in much better detail. The value has a mid range, a low range and a high range. I did it on mine and it really helped make the digital much clearer to understand. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, September 18, 2006 10:43 AM Subject: [UnidenBC785D] UnidenBC785D - question I have beed using the Uniden family of scanners for years now.. Recently I have started to notice on some trunked signals a warble sound as they speak. Sometimes this sound is only on one side of the conversation sometimes on both and sometimes not at all. Infact many times other conversations have no sign of the warble sound. I am thinking that part of this may be reduced signal strength by the transmitting station or just conditions, etc. Has anyone ever heard what I am descripting and maybe have an idea as to the cause of this .. The scanner seems to work great but this occasional warble almost and sometimes drowns out the voice on the channel... Thanks for any ideas.. I hope this is clear to all group members..
