ScanControl Version 6 from 3D Technologies will be released shortly. This new version includes several new enhancements. The most significant enhancement, however, is the introduction of Intelligent Audio Capture (IAC) technology. Version 6 will include IAC supporting all the radios ScanControl currently supports including the BC785D. IAC enables you to capture audio streams from the radio and save them on your PCs hard disk for playback by any compatible audio player software (Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc.). IAC is intelligent because it doesn't just send all audio to a single file. During control / monitor sessions, if IAC is enabled, individual audio files are created for each unique frequency or TGID that is received by the radio. The audio from each frequency or TGID is then streamed into these files, with "dead air" or gaps dropped out, for as long as the recording session is enabled. Of course, your PC will require a sound card with a Line-In connection available, and a cable from the radio's Rec-Out connector to the Line-In connector. Files are saved in MP3 format in the initial release. For more details check out our release preview at www.scannersoft.com/whatsnew.htm <http://www.scannersoft.com/whatsnew.htm> . Ken D. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] If you have come here to find out about the 785D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-785D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-785D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
