Scanning issues

I am hoping that someone can help me out. I have a BC785D and its giving me
a problem. The problem is when Alert tones are being set off by the agency
for the Fire or EMS (Quick Call alerts) in the middle of the tone the
scanner goes right back into scan. I have my delay to resume scanning set to
4 seconds so that's not it. 

Any help?

If you have come here to find out about the 785D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-785D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-785D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
