Problem with PC Control and Display Screen

My BC785D has a few problems lately.

1) I cannot get any software (TrunkStar, E-Scanner, ARC250) to
recognize the radio. They all say "Unable to establish communication
with scanner."  I've check settings (Com Post and Radio) and they are
correct.

2) Also, When I turn on PC Control the display on the BC785D dims
considerably. If I turn PC control off, Display goes back to normal.

Other than these problem scanner works great!

Any Ideas out There?
