older person need programimng help please

Got my trusty BC785d over hear in New Zealand, been using it for a 
while, but I want to get into the trunktracking part of the scanner, I 
am using Butels software ARC250 which is good, got the appropiate 
frequencies loaded for trunk tracking the software has listed the ID's 
in the table, but it doesn't really tell me if the order it has listed 
the ID's correspond with the numerical list of frequencies, and also I 
have noticed on the scanner, it shows the ID's in the top of the 
screen, and also on the bottom underneath the frequency, it shows "AMT 
ID", what is the "AMT ID"..I find the instruction manual to hard to 
follow, hopefully someone here will be able to explain it all simply 
please
