Sorry Ken, I didn't say it correctly- It is thru the use of common data ta=
bles in a spreadsheet that allows common programming to be used between Ham=
radio programs (Chirp) and various scanner programming programs. I use a =
variety for scanners, depending on which one I'm programming. Pro93 (not u=
seful for 785 of course!), ScanCat Gold free, an old version of ScanCat Plu=
s I got in a trade, both Scan Cats are useful for the 785.
Specifically, the ones I use most with it are the old Trunker,=20
UniTrunker (http://www.unitrunker.com/), (Trunker/UniTrunker are not radio =
programming, but operation programs where I use the 785 as audio output) an=
d Control Freq Jr v2 which is used for programming though I like either Sca=
nCat much better --(http://www.freqofnature.com/software/controlfreqjr2/)
I have a bank for Ham frequencies, and the programming is the same as in my=
radios and that scanner bank, but the actual programming software varies -=
- It is only the database files that are common, and moved from program to=
 program.
Sorry for any confusion - and I wonder if scanner programming could be adde=
d or patched onto Dans very fine Chirp program---
Bart

If you have come here to find out about the 785D you have come to the right=
place! In fact the discussion of the BC-785D and how it works is the only =
acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the=
BC-785D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
