I have what is probably a very stupid question, but I can't seem to
find the answer in the BC785D manual, so am hoping someone will take
pity on me and provide some help.

While in Scan mode, suppose I want to jump to a specific frequency,
maybe one I don't have programmed in a bank, or don't know what
channel it might be linked to. Say I hear a transmission saying "Go
to 152.5000". How do I stop the ongoing scan, enter 152.5000 and
start listening to it temporarly, without programming it into a
channel or some bank?

If you have come here to find out about the 785D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-785D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-785D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
