I had the same problems. I tried everything, after a lot of work and
money. I did this and it works like a charm. I am 1 mile away from a
nextel tower and about 5 from the trs I want to monitor I put up a
antenex beam for the freqs I wanted, mounted it below the roof line
helping impede the path of the nextel signal but pointed at the trs
site I wanted to monitor I have a n connecter T inline that also
goes to the antenna I use for the 2 public service bands I use, It
is a maxrad with radials I believe it is the 0ne for the 144mhz and
446mhz range mounted about 35ft and the yagi is about 20ft. This
helped my nextel problems allthough not perfect it is 100% better.
Everything is fed with lmr400 and N conn. Hope this helps

If you have come here to find out about the 785D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-785D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-785D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
