Hi Noel,

I would just switch around the bands every so once in a while and
see if the problem re appears. Relays, like most mechanical items,
benefit from being used. If they just sit there slight corrosion or
dust or solidification of lubricants can cause mechanical items to
start to fail. It isn't likely there is any lubricant in the relay
and I don't remember if the FT100 relays are hermetically sealed but
it is possible some corrosion of either the relay contact surface or
the rotating part of the relay mechanism may be causing the relay to
stick. I would just try it once a week, at least, and see if it
returns.

The analogy I have is with cars. A car used 10K miles a year is
probably in better shape than a car that sat in the driveway without
being used for a year.

Hi All, my Yaesu FT-100D has been working great in
my mobile since day one but is starting to show its age.
I've been using it the past 11 months mostly on 2M/70cm.
Today I switched over to HF with my original ATAS100 and
noticed i lost receive and transmit on 17M - 6M but if
went up to 2M then back down to 6M - 17M all was ok
again. I'm thinking maybe switching relays worn or might
need cleaning. Wondering if anyone has any
recommendation for general tune up service or a good
service tech.
