Hi Kevin,

I have had similar problems with the V/U finals many years ago and found the cause to be faulty capacitors in the stack of capacitors in the final amplifier. There is a stack of chip capacitors between the drain leads of the output pair of FETs.

Of course, your problem may be different. Obviously, as you are getting output on 2m, the FETs are probably still OK.

Subject: [FT100] vhf/uhf output

anyone ever experienced lower than usual output on 2m and no output on 440?

rig indicates 20w on 440 with nothing measured on external meter..
2m indicates 50w on the rig with 20-30w measured on external meter...

would a bad final module put out around 30w if it was bad?

thanks
