Yes, Bob, you’re correct.
Just Google FT100 high SWR and you’ll find heaps of info on the problem. Look especially for the items from Lee, K0LEE as he has a wealth of info on his site.
It’s a known problem with them. It is actually high SWR due to the final stage taking off at around 13MHz, which, of course, your antenna is not designed to work properly at and hence the high SWR indication.
Merry Christmas and a Happy DX New Year.

As far I remember its not actual high SWR causing the icon to be lit its stray RF in the tx section caused by inadequate earthing of screened cables hence it happens even though you have 1.1 to 1.
Looking for support on that or an alternative suggested

Now, I understand that what I'm about to say isn't "good practice" however, in times when I either couldn't get the auto tuner to work, or some other obvious error (forgot to reattach coax after a storm) when I get the high swr indication, it also cuts back the power, protecting itself... I don't do it on purpose or regularly, but it has given me a little security about trying a range of antennas....... Like I said it's not good practice,,,,, just something I had observed.

Hi all
Today I noticed SWR bar raising up for seconds and High SWR icon appear on left corner on our FT-100D during call OF9X in pileup even although antenna is matched to 1:1.1 at the radio input.
I am really worrying to use it as do not want to baking finnals...:(
Is there any idea what happends please?
.......and yes I would like to wish merry and happy Xmas event to all pals here! Good luck.
